i loved this app even before the update and though i guess it can be used for a number of (dif) things, i used/ use them as TV ears. Like the ones that cost 50+ in the stores, i never tried those and im sure they may work better but these work great to block out the noise when im watching my scifi/SyFy since i live in a dorm with a bunch of loud mouth_a whole lotta words, and they never shut the_one word, up, _ that word with a ing, never!!!!!!!! Even right now as i right this review im using them, and i cant hear a thing but a pooey B rated Syfy original playing on TV blasting in my ears. But whats even better is, before the update though they still worked good, for my purpose, to get the best quality i had to put my iphone directly next to the tv, with a pair of long wired stereo headphones. But now whith the new update my iphone can sit right on my lap, like my girlfriend would if i had one_ some comedic riff. But no, all kidding aside, they feel wireless now opposite of having to sit like a robot and not being able to move around much, the sound quality seems to be improved and more percise. i cant vow for what other reviews may or may not say about the purpose they use them for, and if they do or dont work, but to be fare to my dorm mates, i do have a hyper sensitive auditory thingy, and these work great and are better than "amplitude" if your looking for an app for the same purpose. put it this way if they/devs/dev did a lite version of this where the app had a timer or cut out after your device went to sleep, id pay 20$ to get this one that doesnt have a timer, and still works when your device goes to sleep, knowing that something in the retail store would cost me double, and for something that would break or malfunction eventually, alot sooner than my iphone "knock on wood" and the app that is about 98% less. This is a really great app, with this, naturespace, and old time radio podcast, all through itunes i dont have to hear anything i dont want to hear when im watching TV=this app, reading/ and sometimes sleeping= naturespace, but mostly sleeping= oldtime radio podcats, this is the perfect combo if you are someone with a similar condition. What would really be cool is if some dev did a learning spanish app or whatever that you could listen to while you slept that kept looping and never cut off even when your device went to sleep. I dont know how many words the average conversation has but lets say its 200 words? so you take the most common 200 words and put them in spanish " or whatever" for the first 30min have those words loop pronouncing and translating from english to spanish "or whatever" by a native spanish toung, scientificly a womens voice between the age of late 20s to middle aged, which is the sound the human brain is most receptive to aside from a crying baby and for the next 30min have those words loop in a diolog conversation/s and then back to the single word translation etc, etc, that would be cool.
